Baby Milestone Photo Template

Those first twelve months go by so fast! I designed this template to make it easy to capture every one of them. It includes a “Welcome to the World” birth announcement plus a page for every month from one to twelve, each with a spot for a photo and a few notes about what your little one is up to.

What’s Included

• Birth announcement (page 1): your baby’s photo, name, birth date and time, weight, length, and where they were born.
• Monthly milestones (pages 2–13): one page for each month, with your baby’s name, their age, and space to add firsts, checkup stats, or anything else you want to remember.

How to Edit Your Milestone Photos

1. Click the template button above, then click Use template for new design. You’ll need a free Canva account. This makes your own copy, so you can change anything without affecting the original.
2. Add your photo: click Uploads on the left side of the screen and upload your picture. Then drag it right onto the photo frame, and it will snap into place. Double-click the photo to move it around or zoom in so it’s framed just right.
3. Change the text: click on the name, date, time, weight, length, or birthplace and type in your baby’s details. On the monthly pages, click “Add in developmental details here” and replace it with your notes, like first smiles, rolling over, favorite toys, or their weight and height from a checkup.
4. Make it yours: click the background or any shape to change the colors to match your nursery, or click a text box to try a different font.
5. Come back each month. Your design saves automatically in your Canva account, so you can open it every month, add the new photo, and fill in the next page.

How to Save Your Milestone Photos

On a computer:

1. Click Share in the top right corner, then Download.
2. Choose PNG for sharing online or PDF Print for printing.
3. Under Select pages, choose just the month you finished, or select all pages to download the whole year.
4. Click Download. (If you download several pages as PNG, they’ll come in a zip folder. Just open it to find each photo.)

In the Canva app on your phone:

1. Tap the Share button at the top of the screen.
2. Tap Download (or Save to Photos), and pick the page you want.
3. Your milestone photo will be saved to your camera roll, ready to text to family or post!

Tips for Beautiful Milestone Photos

• Pick a spot and stick with it. Taking each month’s photo in the same place, like the crib, a favorite blanket, or the same chair, makes it so fun to see how much your baby grows.
• Use natural light. A spot near a window during the day gives soft, flattering light without a flash.
• Snap a few, then pick your favorite. Babies rarely cooperate on the first try!
• Set a monthly reminder on your phone so you don’t miss a month.
• Print the year. Download all twelve months as a PDF and print them for a baby book, or frame the birth announcement for the nursery. They make sweet gifts for grandparents too.
• Share thoughtfully. If you post your photos publicly online, consider leaving off details like the exact birth time, hospital, or full name, and share the complete version privately with family.
